Sci-fi, fantasy, and a little something for adult readers are all on tap for 2018

Irish dancing is all about feiseanna and friends and hard work. Author Rod Vick will be the first to admit that these qualities make it a compelling and demanding athletic activity.

But he's not content to simply leave it at that.

The award-winning author of the best-selling Kaylee O'Shay, Irish Dancer series is constantly thinking of ways he can push the envelope to new levels of excitement, fun, and great reading.He did this with two recent novels, the expanded version of THE IRISH WITCH'S DRESS and its follow-up, THE IRISH WITCH'S TIARA, use Celtic mythology to create the story of a lazy teen who uses a magical dress to gain success--despite the danger her actions will cause to the world.

Now, he has done it again with DANCE OF TIME and its sequels, DANCE OF SECRETS and DANCE OF DESTINY, which combine Irish dance, history, time travel, and adventure.

"Fantasy and science fiction are big right now with middle readers and teens," said Vick. "And bringing them into stories about Irish dance has been a lot of fun."

While IRISH WITCH'S DRESS is fantasy, Vick has also combined Celtic dance and sci-fi in DANCER IN THE PAINTED MASK and DANCE OF TIME, and DANCE OF SECRETS.

And here's big news: Vick is working on his first novel for adults.

"The plot will revolve around Celtic legend, but there will be no Irish dancing," said Vick.

It will be a thriller, taking the reader from Greenland to Chicago to Egypt to Ireland.

Vick added, "It will be nice to have a title at feiseanna that parents can get for themselves."
