Irish dance, time travel, the Underground Railroad, and non-stop adventure
Take Irish dance, a haunted mansion, a time traveling 14-year-old, a mythic Celtic madman who wants to take over the world, and three magical coins--all set against the dramatic backdrop of the pre-Civil War Underground Railroad--and you have some idea of the excitement in store for readers of DANCE OF SECRETS, Rod Vick's newest offering.
In the series' first book, DANCE OF TIME, hero Dervla "Dare" McClaren and her friend Megan traveled through time from a dance competition to 1946 Chicago, where they raced to save the life of a young dancer, searched for Dare's lost father, and battled an evil Celtic deity for the hidden coins that could control time.
In DANCE OF SECRETS, Dare is flung into 1858 Maryland and a life-or-death struggle to save a friend from being sold into slavery. But the evil Celtic creature, Breas, is back to disrupt her efforts and steal the coins that will allow him to enslave time and the world.
Book three, DANCE OF DESTINY, the final book in the trilogy, is due out next year.
Both DANCE OF TIME and DANCE OF SECRETS combine history, adventure and Irish dance, and each has a TEACHABLE MOMENTS section at the end that explores the real history of the time period more fully.
